Above is a view of the north side of the Reflecting Pool early morning (around 8:00a.m.) on 8-28-2010.

Above is a view of the south side of the Reflecting Pool (facing toward the WWII Memorial) early in the event.

There are four areas of the south side of the Reflecting Pool worth viewing carefully.  Above is the first part.  The picture below is southern half of the first part and the whole of the second part.  This second area is the large field easily seen from most aerial views.

Observe the tree line above.  The tree line forms the northern boundary of the southern field – again easily viewable from most aerial pictures.  It is difficult to appreciate in the aerial pictures just how many people are underneath the trees.  Note above at the far edge of the southern field there are some portable bathrooms and a tent standing.  The picture below – the third area to see – was taken facing the back of those bathrooms.

The picture below is of the woods even further to the south (or to the right) of the area above.  So, you are seeing four separate areas all contiguous to the southern edge of the Reflecting Pool. The people below are definitely concealed by the trees.  Not sure how well this area is being calculated in the crowd estimates that are based on aerial views.

Below, also,  is a picture taken from the WWII Memorial facing toward the Washington Monument.  This perspective is hard to see in some of the aerial views.

Lastly, here is a view of the crowd facing toward the Lincoln Memorial from the base of the Washington Monument.  This picture was taken in the last half hour or so of the Restoring Honor Rally.
